Wes Durham - Play-by-Play Voice of the Atlanta Falcons
Wes Durham is entering his fourth season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Atlanta Falcons. Durham is also starting his 13th year as the radio voice of football and basketball at Georgia Tech, making him one of the nation's busiest announcers on fall weekends.
Selected four times as the "Georgia Sportscaster of the Year" by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, Durham was also recognized by the Atlanta Sports Council in 2006 with the Furman Bisher Award for sports media excellence in Atlanta.
He currently serves on the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta on the Sports Network Advisory Board and co-hosts the Jimmy V Atlanta Golf Classic each summer with former Yellow Jacket head coach Bobby Cremins.
Prior to his arrival in Atlanta, Wes spent three years doing the football and basketball play-by-play at Vanderbilt, where he won Associated Press honors for best play-by-play and sports reporting. He also had stints at Marshall and Radford University.
A North Carolina native, Wes' father, Woody Durham, has been the football and basketball play-by-play announcer at North Carolina since 1971.
The 1988 graduate of Elon College, Durham holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications. In 1992, Durham was honored by his alma mater as its "Outstanding Young Alumnus".
An avid golfer, Durham has eight-year old twins, Emily and Will, and lives in Vinings. Back to Top
Jeff Van Note - Pre-Game and Post-Game Co-Host
The lead color analyst for the broadcasts, Jeff enters his 14th season in the Falcons broadcast booth. Van Note has also covered the Tennessee Titans, Kentucky football, the Southeastern Conference Championship Game, the Peach Bowl and Southern Conference football. He also worked the talk-show circuit on WSB radio alongside the legendary Larry Munson. Van Note is an 18-year NFL veteran who spent his entire pro career in Atlanta. He holds the record for the 11th longest playing career in NFL history and the second longest with one team. Back to Top
Dave Archer - Color Commentator
Dave Archer is a 1983 graduate of Iowa State, playing quarterback in the 1982 and 1983 seasons and earning All-Big 8 honors for his efforts. While there, Dave broke eight Big 8 records and twelve school records earning him a place in the Iowa State Hall of Fame. Dave joined the Atlanta Falcons in 1984 as a free agent and participated in one of the best starts for the Falcons during the 1986 season when they started with 4 wins and 1 loss. In September of the ’86 season, Archer was named Offensive Player of the Month. He enjoyed a thirteen year career in the NFL and the Canadian Football League, and in 1993 while playing in the CFL, he became one of only four quarterbacks to throw for more than 6000 yards in a single pro season. Dave’s high school, Soda Springs High School in Idaho, named their football stadium Archer Field in his honor. Dave also enjoys playing on the Celebrity Players Golf Tour.
Dave brings lots of broadcast experience to the booth as well. He has broadcast over 20 collegiate games and 40 CFL games, including two Grey Cup (the Canadian Football League Super Bowl) broadcasts with TSN/CBC Canada. He has broadcasted the Peach Bowl and the SEC Championship game over the radio, and he currently does television broadcast work for college games on Lincoln Financial Sports and Fox Sports Net as well as Sunday Evening NFL Wrap Up on Fox Sports Net.
